Updates from The Brown Cookie Co
Notes on Privacy
We'd like you to know that we take your information seriously and pride ourselves on doing what's necessary to keep us and our extended family and patrons safe. The Wix platform we use seems to think the same way. To further clarify what is covered by our current use of this platform, including the data that is obtained by the company to conduct business, please see the following long paragraphs that contain additional information on the subject. Feel free to take a cookie break as you scroll through reading about cookies.
The Brown Cookie Co uses the Wix platform. While using this platform, Wix receives, collects and stores any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, the following is also collected: the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login (if applicable); e-mail address; password (if applicable); computer and connection information and purchase history. We and/or Wix may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); payment details (including credit card information- collected by Wix solely for purchase completion and not saved by The Brown Cookie Co), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile. This helps us know how to do better and learn what it is you like about our site.

Why do we collect the noted personal information?
We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:
To provide and operate the Services;
To provide you with ongoing customer assistance and technical support (if applicable);
To be able to contact you with general or personalized notices and promotional messages;
To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services, including baking more cookies;

How do we store, use, share and disclose your personal information?
The Brown Cookie Company is currently hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our goodies and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.
All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. Basically, we don't have your credit info, but get notice when you pay. We aren't the platform and we aren't the credit collectors, we just love, bake, package responsibly and send:0). Isn't life grand?

Wow, that was a lot of reading! We hope we were able to make the policy notice as clear as batter:0). We're neither lawyers nor computer geniuses, but we did our best and will continue to do so as we keep growing in this good food business, with the help of our peeps.
Thanks a lot, natural cookie fans!
